Here's a tip:  If you create a page like this for yourself, you won't have to enter everything into your browser again every time you switch to a different browser or upgrade to a new operating system or a new version of your operating system.  This, I believe, is the original idea of a "home page".  You can create it from scratch, or you're welcome to download this file and edit it as you please.  Then just enter the location of your home page in your browser's Bookmarks or Favorites, instead of all the individual references!

The home page can reside on your computer, or on your web page (many ISPs automatically provided you with a free online location for exactly this purpose).  In the latter case, you can go to it even if you're away from home working on another computer.

You can also have two URL pages, one on the web and one at home.  Use the first to make sites that you recommend available to other people, as I'm doing here.  Use the one on your own computer for sites that appeal to a narrower range of people, for instance the links to your local newspaper, library, or local transit system.  If you end up with the same category on both pages, edit the page on your own computer to point to the online one.  That way you don't have to keep both pages current and in synch with each other.  Click here to see such a page.
