It Never Ends

If "monsters" like Adam in The Lion Sleeps Tonight were fertile, and were raised by parents instead of having to survive their initial crisis in ignorance and by sheer luck, eventually there would be a lot of them awake at one time.  What would ordinary humans make of a race of strong, immortal beings?  And what would relations behind "humans" and "elves" really be like?
