November 28, 2005

• Fixed an error in the fourth chapter of Crown of Starsuns.
• Fixed bugs in the HTML index files in my poems section; the Perl programs were correct, but the HTML I told them to write had errors.
• Added a new song, Stop the Fire.

November 27, 2005

• Completed and uploaded the fourth chapter of Crown of Starsuns.  Also added the poem "The Iron Crown" to the first chapter, and made corrections to chapters 1-3.

November 22, 2005

• Wrote Perl programs that read all the poems and songs in my poems directory, and generate HTML files that list them by category and date, by category and title (the one I was maintaining by hand before), by date only, and by title only.
• The main page now takes you to the category-and-title page, but all four of the new pages let you jump to the others.
• Rounded up the original versions of four songs that disappeared from the poems index when I incorporated them in the SGU Song Book; once again my backups come to my rescue!
• Added a link from any of the poetry pages to the SGU Song Book, since there are songs that only appear there, as well as the SGU versions of some others.
• Changing the poems directory this drastically breaks the links to it from elsewhere on the site, mostly from the stories directory.  So next I'll go through my site, find all the links to poems, and fix them.  I'll also correct some typos in The Last-Minute Queen that I noticed during this project, mostly places where I typed one word instead of another, like "did" instead of "die".

• Brought the Modesty Blaise concordance up to date with the contents of Comics Revue 234 and the new Titan Press collection, though it isn't out yet.  Added a whole bunch of stuff to my Links section, including tips.

• Changed the Links section of my web site and brought the Modesty Blaise concordance up to date with the contents of Comics Revue 232-233.

• Organized the Essays section of my web site.  Uploaded the first part of How To Use Your Computer As a Smart Jukebox.

• Lots done but none of it typed yet, due to changes in my "day job:" the beginnings of a section on how to turn your computer into a juke box, Chapter 2 of The End, and Chapter 4 of Crown of Starsuns.
• Uploaded chapers 1-16 of The Last-Minute Queen with typos corrected.
• Brought the Modesty Blaise concordance up to date with a picture of the cover of the newest Titan Books collection, The Green-Eyed Monster.
• Uploaded new item in Essays section, Numeric Renaming with Perl.

• I've gotten several things written, but been too busy to type them.  But here's "Blerchies", a short story.  Next comes Chapter 2 of Crown of Starsuns, then "Werewolves Are Bunk", then Chapter 3 of Starsuns, and then we'll see ...

• Registered with the Linux Counter Project and added my certificate to the main page.

• Added the new poem Arthur's Vow, which I conceived of long ago but only wrote yesterday.
• Commented out the extra spacing that Konqueror needed in various section pages, because KDE/Konqueror 3.2.3 (that comes with Mandrake Linux 10.1) now handles DIV spacing the same as Opera and Internet Explorer.

• I seem to be in a mental place right now where, instead of writing one novel all the way through the way I did last year and the year before, I'm taking on the beginnings of all the novels that have been sitting in my brain all these years.  So be it!  It's still progress.
• Completed and uploaded the first chapter of Crown of Starsuns.

• Made some corrections to the Modesty Blaise concordance, including adding a picture of the cover of the newest Titan Books collection.

• Corrected a formatting error in the first chapter of The End.  Everything after "Χαιρε Νικε!" was in italics when viewed with Internet Explorer.
• Completed and uploaded the first chapter of The Ŧulaňē.

• Set up the directory for The End.  Finished and uploaded the first chapter.  Everything in the chapter isn't in the Glossary yet, and there are no links to the Glossary except the dates at the head of each section.

• Converted all the appendixes to CSS.  That completes the conversion of my site to CSS.

• Added links so that all title references on this page, if clicked on, take you to the story or novel mentioned.

• Changed main pages so that titles have proper spacing between them in Konqueror browser as well as Opera and Internet Explorer.
• Updated copyright ranges to include 2005.
• Changed e-mail address back to Yahoo.  Made changes so it would center properly in all three browsers.
• Put "What's New" stuff older than 7/1/2004 in a second page to be loaded only if someone really wants to see it.
• Corrected the copyright date on the poem "Antaios".
